Reflections for the community post Sun Dance 2026: A Prayer Carried To The Tree of Life

Before beginning this journey to South America to dance for the Sun at the Tree of Life with my fire family, Roots of the Earth, Luke and I experienced a deep and beautiful closing of the Gregorian year.

We shared with the families of each place where the fire was lit and the temazcal circle was opened. Each territory offered us so much medicine. In just the last month alone we welcomed babies who had been accompanying us since the moment we prayed for them to come, until finally meeting their smiling faces. We celebrated the lives of friends and brothers, the union of new couples, and we also moved through endings that opened the door to new possibilities.

We lived closely with death as well, which brought with it the restoration of the health of someone we love deeply and who has welcomed us into their family.

It is almost impossible to summarize in just a few words what this closing of the year was: love, strength, and wisdom. All of this is what my steps carried inside the circle of the Sun Dance. Each of your hearts danced with mine, and all those prayers that one day we offered inside and outside the temazcal were delivered at the Tree of Life.

You cannot imagine how beautiful it is to remember you while the rays of the sun are offered in that sacred portal that is the dance circle, where our feet make an offering with every step to the heartbeat of the drum.

I feel deeply grateful for so much medicine, but above all for life and for this family of the world. Grateful to be guided by grandfathers and grandmothers, by elder brothers and sisters who hold with conviction the tradition of a spiritual world that always embraces us.

Grateful as well to those who envisioned, many years ago, this way of living, not from ego or from the power of leadership, but from the simplicity and humility of someone who understands that the transformation of life is a wealth greater than any price.

I have always said it and I repeat it: this is not a spiritual race. It is a path of devotion to your own connection and of respect for a humanity that is healthier, more connected, and more united with Mother Earth who holds us all.

We are not the only ones here. We are many species coexisting, many spirits sharing this plane. And only when we learn to see from the heart of the spirit can we open ourselves to all the dimensions of this life and with that, to the infinite possibilities available to live.

Thank you to everyone who has offered their tobacco, their prayer, and their service along this path. I always carry you in my medicine bag. 💙🌈

With my beloved Luke we continue walking, soon to return home to Australia, grateful to have embraced and shared with our family of blood and life.

You are loved and remembered with great affection, each and every one of you.

Thank you, family. 🔥⭕️🫂🌈
